TO: The Calvary Lutheran Church Congregation

              HAITI NEEDS OUR HELP.

The GT Water Team is, again, bringing water filtration systems to Haiti along with bucket faucets, GT Water Smile Kits, tarps and cases of supplies. To keep this vital aid mission going, GT Water needs our support. How can you help?

»Visit the GT Water website, to make a donation or go to the new GT Water GoFundMe page,

»Help to relieve some of the suffering of the many who live without basic hygiene products by donating the following:

  • toothbrushes (individually wrapped)

  • Fluoride tooth paste (6oz or larger)

  • soap bars – antibacterial (like Dial)

»At this time, we have the opportunity to focus on the children who have now wander amidst the rubble because their homes and schools have been destroyed. Items requested are:

  • uninflated soccer balls

  • colored pencils

  • coloring books

Collection boxes for all requested items are in the narthex at Calvary

The NEED IS GREAT and the TIME IS NOW so please consider making a donation as soon as possible. The next relief delivery flight is scheduled for September 19.

                                                    THANK YOU.

CFA (Center for Food Action)

We gather food donations throughout the year to help stock the shelves at a local food pantry. Before Thanksgiving, our youth group goes to the shelter and helps organize and pass out bags of food to families in need. During the summer, we collect school supplies for local children so that they may have a good start in September.

Family Promise of Bergen County

We host homeless familes of Bergen County along with two other churches in Allendale. Together, we provide evening and lunch meals, overnight hosts, and a safe place for families to spend the night together.

Angel Tree

We buy, wrap and deliver gifts for children in Paterson and Bergen County who have a parent who is incarcerated. Angel Tree brings a little joy to families in need.

Eva’s Village

The mission of Eva's Village is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, treat the addicted and provide medical and dental care to the poor with respect for the human dignity of each individual. Calvary’s Stitchers (needleworkers) and other committees support Eva’s Village.

GT Water Project

GT Water was created to help underserved families (mostly women and children) improve their quality of life by providing access to a sustainable supply of clean drinking water. Operating in Honduras and Haiti, GT Water is focused on establishing self-functioning, geographically local teams. We help stimulate the local economy by hiring local residents, paying them a sustainable wage, and purchasing supplies from local vendors.   ProjProject Smile– enables healthy living in GT Water communities,  by providing  toothbrushes and toothpaste to families during our quarterly health clinics. Calvary actively participates in the collection of health related products including soap, band-aids, toothpaste, toothbrushes and additional home health product, GT Water has aided over 500,000 people.

Lutheran World Relief/Disaster Reponse

This organization brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, the LWR stays to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. Congregation members contribute to this ministry.

We collect and donate specific items in order to provide Christmas-time cheer and fellowship to seafarers who are at sea and far from family and friends.
