How We Serve the Community

Happy New Year 2025!
As we begin this new year, our Sunday School students are beginning a series of lessons called “The Gift of Water”. In addition to studying Bible stories that relate to water, the students will be involved in activities using water. Last week the ocean and planting were discussed along with pollution.
We are asking that you consider bringing a few new toothbrushes, a 5-ounce or larger tube of fluoride toothpaste, and/or cash offering donation (in the envelope provided) during these 2 months.
We will continue to create awareness of Protecting God’s Gift of Water! (We will join for a“packing party” for GT water to make SMILE kits at a date to be announced .)
Thank you
PROJECT GOAT
To celebrate this Lenten season, we hope to raise enough money to purchase a GOAT (or Goats). Through the ELCA’s Good Gifts program, we can send a young goat to a family (including training in breeding, trade and self-sufficiency) for $50 per kid!
We will be collecting from now until May 24.
Please consider donating, along with our Sunday School students, to this worthy cause. Any amount is appreciated. Cash is preferred but checks can be made to: Calvary Lutheran Church, memo “Project Goat”
Thank you for your support!

Smile Kits and GTWater Filtration Systems
Save the Date – March 9 for our Snack & Pack Party. Join us after the service for fellowship and food as we pack up supplies for Project Smile and send much needed and much appreciated personal hygiene kits to our friends in Haiti and Honduras. Full size toothpaste and individually packaged
toothbrushes are needed. Bring the whole family and friends. The more, the merrier. Did you know that it costs over $60 just to mail each box of
supplies? Cash donations are welcome.

Positive tails
Our Sunday School Kids have been raising funds for Positive Tails, a nonprofit organization that helps provide funding for emergency lifesaving veterinary care for those families who can't afford treatment, or for animals who are abandoned or abused.
A square in The BONE is filled with a sticker when contributions are made. Let's show our love for God's creatures & support our Sunday School's efforts! Look for the special collection jars in the Narthex.

Fun & Fabulous February - A Month of Super Support!
Calvary is participating in the Center for Food Action's Souper Bowl. Please consider purchasing a can(s) of Hearty Soups for out neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Last year we collected 160 cans of soup during January and February. Let's try to beat that number for 2025. GO TEAM!!!

Canned Goods for The Center For Food Action (CFA)
Coming soon in Magnanimous March!
LENT begins on March 9 and we have a special Lenten project - we hope to raise enough money to purchase a GOAT (or Goats). Why goats? Well, goats can live in very challenging terrain and unreliable climates. They can supply a family with fresh milk and nutrition and a means of trade for supporting a community thus, breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty. More information to come. (G.O.A.T- Greatest of All Time!) “Be A GOAT, buy a Goat!"
Our monthly donations to the Center for Food Action in March will focus on cereal and oatmeal but all donations are welcome.
